Biker Friendly Church

 

What exactly is a "Biker Friendly Church"?  Not to slam anyone, but some churches use this term to mean that they are "ok" with bikers coming to visit on Sundays.  We are more than "ok" with it.  Being biker friendly is more than just a catch phrase with us here at Urban.  We're serious about being a place where anyone can come to church and find God and never feel out of place or awkward because of how you're are dressed or how many tattoos you have.  

I am personally tired of hearing stories about how bikers are treated in some churches.  Over and over again I hear stories about how good people are made to feel like outcasts because they wear leathers or have tats.  Yet in my experience, some of the nicest and most important people in my life are bikers. 

And it's not just bikers.  I hear the same kind of stories from people with lots of body piercings or people who don't have nice clothes to wear to church.  I mean, come on... do the clothes we wear or our ink or our hobbies have anything to do with being one of God's kids?  I don't think so.  It really bums me out to hear these stories because churches who make people feel unwelcome, or worse...unworthy, are totally misrepresenting God.  Look, I don't have an attitude against churches or anything, but I do admit that it bugs me to hear this stuff.  So we want to be different.
